Our beautiful Duchess, who is normally running up near the Homestead with Majestic, is already a mother to two colts, Ernest and Jock, and she foaled just 8 days later than Aspen. Now we have another filly, her name is Cedars Winnifred. She was originally going to be called Cedars Contessa, in line with the titles granted to her mother, and grandmother etc, but on reflection, this foal’s entry to the world was accompanied by a whinny. So “Winnifred” seemed only appropriate.

I made some errors in our December Newsletter by not checking with our studmaster, Helene. Here is the correct parentage and foaling dates:
Cedars Ursula born on Nov 13th 11.30pm. Aspen’s first foal was sired by Speculator.
Cedars Winnifred born on Nov 21st 3am. Dutchess’s 3rd foal, all three (Ernest & Jock) have been sired by Cedars Majestic.
